We learned about the important job of a policeman.  We made hats and badges and proudly wore them around the school.   We did an activity where we made fingerprints.   We learned about the phone number 9-1-1 and who would be answering our phone call.   This is used only in an emergency and not just for fun.   We talked about what the colors red, yellow and green mean.  Then we had a good time playing the game, Red Light, Green Light.

We started talking about the job of a fire fighter.   We made a list of words that go with his/her job.  Some of them are:   hose, hot, hydrant, water, boots, coat, hat, gloves, fire station, fire truck.    Ff is for firefighter.  We learned the sound that Ff makes.   We practiced making upper and lower case Ff’s.

****Please remember that flip flops are very difficult for the children to run around and play outdoors in.  Please have your child wear either gym shoes or sandals that buckle/close so that the children can run around without added risk.  ****

Supplies

We could use some antibacterial wipes and disinfectant spray.

We are continuing to learn about community workers.  The mail carrier has an important job, which is to bring us our mail (letters, bills, magazines, etc.).   We made mail carrier’s hats, colored and cut out our own mailboxes,  and wrote letters for us to receive at home.  Then we put them in the mailbox.   Hopefully they will reach our houses soon!
