Room 106 News
Groundhog Day was on February 2. We learned that a groundhog is also known as a woodchuck. We saw a picture of one. We read a story and listened to some poems and nursery rhymes. We learned that he did not see his shadow, which means an early spring. We talked about shadows and how they are formed.
We started our unit on Valentine’s Day. We patterned headbands using different colored hearts. We also did an art project and made butterflies. Many of its parts are hearts.
Our Parker Buddies came back to visit. They went to gym with us!
We had music too!
On Thursday, February 14, we will be having a Valentine’s Day party. You may send treats and valentines for your child to share with his/her friends. There are six children in the room: Sachi, Taylier, Alex, Tristen, Vivica and Isaac. Please have the valentines filled out before bringing them to school.
Winter is upon us. The snow is falling around the Chicago area. Please send slippers or dry shoes that your child can change into when they arrive at school. Please also send snowpants for your child to wear during Brain Boost.
If your child is absent from school, please remember to send a note with your child upon their return.
Please check the folder and back pack every night and take out the completed work. Please send the folder to school every day.
We are getting really low on our snack supply. Please send in some healthy snacks.
We could use some table wipes and disinfectant spray.
