We are having a fun week!   We continued talking about Christmas and how we celebrate it.  The students made their own Santa Claus and Rudolph the red nosed reindeer.   We also decorated our own small Christmas trees using sequins, buttons and letters.      We are continuing to work on learning our colors and numbers.  We completed color by number pages.  We had music too.

Thank you for sending all of the delicious treats for our holiday party. We loved them!

We had fun this week!  Our Parker Buddies came to visit.

We learned about Hanukah.   We read several different books and learned some songs, fingerplays and poems.   We talked about some of the symbols:  dreidel, menorah and Star of David and made headbands.    We saw a couple of menorahs and learned that they come in different shapes and sizes.   The students followed directions to color a menorah.  We also made Stars of David and put them on our bulletin board with the giant cookie sheet.   We each made our very own menorah.

We began learning about Christmas.  We talked about how we might celebrate the holiday.   We said some people have a tree with ornaments on it.  So we decorated trees using Fruit Loops as ornaments.   We are continuing to make our classroom festive for the holidays.    The students love to help us!

We had art and music this week too.

We will be having a holiday party on Friday, December 21.  You may send a healthy snack for your child to share with their friends.

We had a great week!  We talked about the gingerbread man.  We learned some songs, fingerplays and poems.  We also read several different books.  We used candy to decorate our very own gingerbread man.   We made a name graph.  The children wrote their names on a cookie and glued it to the front of their gingerbread man.   We looked at the beginning letters of each child’s name and made a graph with it.   On the bulletin board outside of our classroom, there will be a giant cookie sheet filled with gingerbread men and other holiday treats.    We also completed a paper where we listened and followed directions to decorate a gingerbread man.
